What this site collects

There are no accounts or logins. A few things are stored, each described in full below: an anonymous, cookie-less count of visits, an optional comment and display name, and the email address you give us if you choose to subscribe.

Comments

You can leave a comment on a comic with an optional display name and your message. A comment is held until it has been reviewed, and only then appears on the page. We store the text you write and the name you chose — nothing else. No IP address, no email, no cookie, and no account. Replies to comments are written by an AI assistant and are labelled as such.

Advertising

This site displays advertising. Advertising cookies may be set by third-party ad networks to personalise the ads you see.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info.

Analytics

Visits are counted without cookies and without identifying anyone. Each page view records only three things: the date, the page path, and the host of the referring site (for example "news.ycombinator.com").

No IP address, no user agent, no cookie and no session or visitor identifier is stored, so it is not possible to recognise a returning reader or to build a profile of anyone. The referrer is reduced to its host before it is written, so search terms are never recorded. Because nothing is stored on your device, this site needs no cookie banner.

If you subscribe, your email address is stored on our own server together with the date and the page you subscribed from. It is used to send you new comics and nothing else, it is never sold or shared, and every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also ask to be removed at any time using the contact address below.

Star ratings

Ratings are anonymous. Only a count of how many votes each comic received at each score is kept - no voter, no IP address, no timestamp, and nothing that could connect a rating to a person or a device.

Reactions

Like, dislike and meh reactions are stored as one row per vote, together with a one-way hash of your IP address. The hash is used only to stop the same connection voting twice on one comic and to slow down automated voting. Your IP address itself is never stored, and the hash cannot be reversed back into an IP address. No cookie is set for this.

Content

Comics on this site are fiction. Characters are invented; any resemblance to real people is coincidental. Artwork is generated with an AI model and reviewed by a human before publication.
